Wellesley Finance Plc

A specialist SME property development finance lender.

Wellesley Finance Plc is responsible for the origination and management of asset backed loans. Wellesley Finance Plc underwrites, structures and initially funds residential property lending transactions which subsequently can be acquired and matched to various investment products.

Wellesley Finance Plc issues the Wellesley Mini-Bond, the proceeds of which are used for lending and business expansion and the Wellesley Property Mini-Bond, which offers investors the opportunity to invest directly into asset backed loans made by Wellesley.

Wellesley Finance Plc is not regulated and does not carry out any regulated activities. Wellesley Finance Plc is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

Finance Plc

Issues Wellesley Property Bonds. These bonds are used to acquire loans originated by Wellesley Finance.

Wellesley Secured Finance Plc was established as a bankruptcy remote special purpose vehicle for the sole purpose of issuing asset backed securities. Wellesley Secured Finance Plc is not a part of the Wellesley Group.

Graham Wellesley
CEO & Founder

Graham started his career in the city working within the derivatives industry for firms including Hoare Govett, Banque Indosuez and ING Bank before founding IFX Markets which was one of the first online institutional and retail providers of foreign exchange and spreadbetting. After taking the company public on the London Stock Exchange, Graham acquired ODL Securities in 2004 which he grew to being an international leader in FX trading which he merged with FXCM in 2010 as part of the company’s floatation on the New York Stock Exchange. Up until recently, Graham was the Vice Chairman for FXCM and also was the chairman of Prestige Asset Management where he was responsible for building a significant agricultural loan book. Graham founded Wellesley in 2013, he is the chairman of Wellesley and plays an active role in the credit committee.

Andrew Turnbull
Director & Co-Founder

After attending university in Scotland, Andrew moved to London to start working within the derivative trading industry as an investment adviser and sales manager. Andrew’s most recent roles were within ODL Securities and then FXCM where he performed the roles of Marketing Director and latterly Vice President for FXCM Europe specialising in the retail and institutional foreign exchange trading platform services. Whilst at FXCM Andrew managed their trading relationship with Barclays Stockbrokers which was branded Barclays Margin FX and also led the firm’s strategy in the Turkish FX markets. Andrew is responsible for managing the needs of all lenders who invest through the Wellesley platform.

Dagmar Petersen
Legal Counsel

Dagmar has over fifteen years’ experience split between law, investment banking and entrepreneurship. Dagmar began her career as an M&A lawyer at Clifford Chance and Skadden Arps, spending time on secondment in the Legal and M&A departments of the Airbus Group in Paris. After her MBA, she worked in investment banking, focussing particularly on TMT and Fintech transactions and gained business experience when she was brought in to restructure a start-up for a portfolio investor. Dagmar holds a BA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University and an MBA from INSEAD. Dagmar joined Wellesley as General Counsel in December 2016 and is a member of the Executive Committee.
