What type of account should I open?
You can invest in any of Wellesley’s listed bond products in both accounts, so which is best for you?
General Investment Account (GIA)
A Wellesley GIA is our standard account that allows you to invest into our listed bonds. Unlike an ISA account, you pay tax in accordance with your personal tax situation.
Individual Savings Accounts (ISA)
If you haven’t already used your ISA allowance for the year, Wellesley’s ISA account means that you can benefit from tax free saving. The currently ISA allowance is £20,000 per annum.
If you apply for an ISA account, we will also automatically open a GIA account in your name so you have the option of investing both inside and outside of your ISA allowance. You are free to leave this account inactive should you wish.
